Firstly, ICM chaplains always reflect the concern of the Christian community for all persons, regardless of an individual’s own beliefs.

Secondly, since ICM chaplains servce at places of work, they engage people at appropriate times in the flow of their work, keeping conversations as brief as needed. They take the longview, knowing that a consistent weekly presence over time opens doors when needs arise. Chaplains follow workplace regulations and stay in touch with managers to understand expectations.

Lastly, while chaplains naturally value the importance of local church involvement for all people open to attending, they do not seek to promote their particular church over others. Chaplains are not pushy, but rather always aim to meet people “where they are” and serve with humility and kindness.
